Apollyonsings

Apollyonsings is a contemporary devotional music and visual project exploring what happens when ancient sacred traditions encounter modern sound, cinematic image, and generative technology.

Mantras become songs, meditations become visual worlds, and questions of karma, agency, devotion, and meaning are approached without separating the sacred from the human.

Before the Descent

On Freedom, Compassion, and the Journey into the Unknown

Before the journey of recovery came an encounter with uncertainty that challenged familiar ideas of freedom, identity, and belonging.

In this personal audio essay, Juan Ramirez reflects on vulnerability, unexpected compassion, and the connections that shape our lives.

The memoir

surviving bipolar disorder: a journey through recovery and hope

A Memoir of Recovery and Meaning

Juan’s memoir follows a life interrupted and remade. What begins as a story of ambition, belonging, love, and loss becomes a descent into rupture—and, slowly, a return to ordinary life with different eyes. Rather than presenting recovery as a triumphant ending, the book traces the quieter work of rebuilding: learning what can be carried forward, what must be released, and what it means to choose one’s life again after certainty has fallen away. At its heart, it is a story about agency—not the power to control what happens, but the capacity to meet what remains with clarity, responsibility, and hope.

Beyond the book, Juan writes on the inner life — essays and fragments that move between the consulting room, the meditation hall, and the editing desk.

The director behind the world

About Juan

Portrait of Juan Ramirez, Creative Director & Generative Media Curator

Juan Ramirez works the way a director works — not as a passenger of generative tools, but as their conductor. The machine proposes; the artist disposes. What survives is a body of work that feels less generated than revealed.

  1. 01

    Concept Development

Each piece begins as a question — about karma, devotion, the shadow, the sign — long before any sound or image exists.

  2. 02

    Generative Tools

Music and image models are treated as instruments: prompted, provoked, and pushed far past their first answers.

  3. 03

    Artistic Direction

A single visual and sonic thesis governs each work — palette, tempo, light, and silence are chosen like scripture.

  4. 04

    Selection

A handful of generations are carefully listened to and selected based on how well they capture the intention of the director and the tradition of the mantra, while making it meaningful to a modern audience.

  5. 05

    Editing

Rhythm is built in the cut — breath by breath, until image and sound move as one liturgy.

  6. 06

    Curation

Pieces are sequenced into the larger world of Apollyonsings, where each release deepens the ones before it.

Support the Work

If the work has given you something — a quiet hour, a useful question, a moment of stillness — consider buying Juan a coffee. Every cup goes directly into the next piece: more music, more films, more time in the dark room where they are made.
